I enjoy making small bowls, with dimpled indents, that sit comfortably in the hands. I call them cupping bowls. The dimples are made by pushing gently into the clay on the side of the bowl, whilst it is still on the wheel, very soft and malleable.
I often make these in three sizes, small medium and larger. I imagine them as families related in form but not identical. They have many uses, as containers for olives and nuts etc or for holding liquids and can be used as drinking vessels.
