Pots > Baskets


I have always loved baskets and have a good collection. Over the last couple of years I have been exploring the form, making shallow, wide handled baskets, using a porcelain clay body and firing them in the front chamber: see the first three baskets below.

In the last firing, I made some baskets using my stoneware clay body from St Amand, slipping them in a yellow titanium slip. One side of the baskets fired a subtle satiny yellow, whilst the side exposed to the salt, started dissolving and transforming into an iridescent blue glaze.
